Between repairs I build instruments and music tools, and I publish them
as open source so anyone can build, modify, or learn from them.

Three-chip AY-3-8910 MIDI synthesizer
Three AY-3-8910A sound chips, the voice of 1980s arcade machines and
home computers, driven by an Arduino Leonardo and played over MIDI.
The firmware adds modern synth features to the chips' raw square
waves and noise.
- Buzzy envelope bass, vibrato, tremolo, glide, noise blend and ADSR
- Browser-based editor over USB: plug in, open the page, tweak every parameter live
- Presets saved on the synth itself
- Firmware and tools licensed GPL-3.0
The editor needs Chrome or Edge on a computer, with the 8B8 connected by USB.
Minichord Lab
A music-theory playground for the minichord
Small browser pages that turn Benjamin Poilve's open-source minichord
into a music-theory interface. Play a chord and watch it on a
pitch-class clock, or hear the minichord's four chord voices as four
separate instruments in the Choir view. More views are on the way.
Needs a minichord connected by USB, in Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a computer.
